ACHIEVE YOUR DREAM YARD

One of the hardest part about renovating any outdoor space is coming up with great ideas that are beautiful but still practical (for the budget AND the construction). This is my area of expertise! If you have a spot or an entire yard that needs help, I can develop the next level ideas to make it fantastic, as well as budget-friendly.

one piece at a time

I specialize in taking a project, and breaking it down into manageable pieces. Once we have the project envisioned, you can use my services as little or as much as you want. I can help in all the areas you don’t want, or cannot, tackle on your own.

your renovations are within reach, even without an infinite budget!

A yard makeover done over time can be a rewarding and manageable project. Here's how I approach it:

  1. Assessment and Planning:

    • We start by assessing your yard and envisioning what you want it to look like. I help you consider factors like functionality (e.g., seating areas, play space), aesthetics (e.g., plants, hardscaping), and maintenance needs.

    • I help you plan of how you want your yard to be transformed.

  2. Prioritization:

    • We will break down the makeover into smaller, manageable tasks or phases. It is best to prioritize tasks based on what is most urgent, what can be done seasonally, or what fits your budget at different times.

  3. Budgeting:

    • We will allocate a budget for each phase or task. By spreading out the costs over time, you can manage expenses more effectively.

  4. Seasonal Approach:

    • We will use the seasons to your advantage. For instance, spring and fall are ideal for planting, while summer and winter are better for hardscaping and outdoor structures. Summer is great for the weather factor, while prices tend to be lower for most hardscaping projects when the weather is less predictable but contractors have more time. Planning the tasks accordingly will maximize each season's potential.

  5. Phased Implementation:

    • Often we can start with foundational elements such as clearing out overgrown areas, basic landscaping, or installing irrigation if needed. If you are handy and want sweat equity built, you can get in there and help or do it under my guidance.

    • Sometimes it helps to immediately plant any major foundational trees, shrubs, and perennial plants which may take time to establish and grow.

    • The hardscaping, which is usually the most costly part of a makeover, can be done in phases, like main patio first, then connecting paths, then retaining walls, and eventually putting in any secondary patio or other focal areas. The Crown Jewels are the outdoor furniture, lighting, and decorative elements.

  6. DIY vs. Professional Help:

    • I can help you decide which tasks you can realistically DIY and which ones might require professional assistance. For example, heavy hardscaping or complex irrigation systems might need my expert input, but weed removal and general tasks can easily be done by you if you are able.

  7. Maintenance and Iteration:

    • As you complete phases, maintain and care for each area to ensure it thrives. This includes watering, pruning, weeding, and any necessary adjustments.

    • Over time, you might find areas that need tweaking or additional features. I will help you to keep a flexible mindset to iterate on your initial plans based on how the yard evolves. I specialize in coming up with those solutions and ideas that you hadn’t quite thought of, but end up making your space just right for you!

  8. Enjoy the Process:

    • Remember that a yard makeover is not just about the end result but also about enjoying the journey. You can take your time, consult with me for implementing various stages, and appreciate the improvements as they come together.

By breaking down your yard makeover into manageable phases and tasks, you can transform your outdoor space gradually, ensuring it meets your vision while staying within your budget and capabilities.
